Say Hello To Our Plumping Hydration Complex Serum

Not many people realise that one of the contributing factors of dull looking skin is dehydration. When your skin is dehydrated, it could make you more prone to an unhealthy skin barrier, breakouts, hyperpigmentation and more. This is why we created our Plumping Hydration Complex Serum to help revive your skin and keep it hydrated on a daily basis while also targeting an unhealthy skin barrier, dullness and loss of plumpness.

Our serum is gentle and packed with multiple humectants, amino acids, niacinamide and plumping peptides. This combination of ingredients does not only help hydrate the skin but also helps to brighten, strengthen the skin barrier, smooth and plump the skin.

We included multiple humectants for the ultimate hydrating experience. Humectants are ingredients that absorb or draw water from the atmosphere and/or from deeper layers of the skin to the top outermost layer of the skin. Humectants included in this serum include;

Glycerin: A great humectant that is also naturally present in the skin. It attracts water to the top layer of the skin, which helps it stay hydrated.

Panthenol: Also known as provitamin b5. It is a great humectant that also has anti-inflammatory and wound healing benefits.

Sodium PCA: It is a sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid (PCA), one of the many natural moisturising factors. It keeps the skin hydrated and helps condition the skin.

Allantoin: A hydrating ingredient that promotes skin healing, smooths and soothes the skin.

Saccharide Isomerate: A hydrating and moisturising sugar complex derived from plants. It helps boost hyaluronic acid production in the skin.

Aquaxyl: A hydrating complex comprising of Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol and Xylitol. They help boost lipids, proteins, hyaluronic acid production and natural moisturising factors in the skin.

Another ingredient included in our serum is Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3 that has multiple benefits. It helps lighten hyperpigmentation, boosts ceramide production, strengthens the skin barrier, reduces redness, protects the skin from environmental pollution and smooths the texture of skin.

Amino acids are the building blocks for peptides and proteins. Each amino acid sequence creates a different type of peptide and each peptide creates a specific type of protein such as; collagen and elastin, which help keep the skin firm, plump and bouncy. Amino acids also help the skin retain moisture and diminish the signs of aging.

As mentioned above, peptides are chains of amino acids that form proteins. They are classified into 5 groups that carry out different functions: carrier peptides, enzyme inhibitor peptides, signalling peptides, neurotransmitter inhibitor peptides and antimicrobial peptides.

The peptide complex we use in our serum has two signalling peptides; Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. Signalling peptides ‘signal’ to the cells in the matrix extracellular network to increase protein production. The matrix extracellular network consists of different types of proteins that provide structural support to the skin.

Collagen is one of the proteins found in the matrix, it is a skin elasticising protein that diminishes as we get older. When we don't have enough of it our skin starts to look less plump and begins to sag. Peptides are also very hydrating, this is because they are made up of amino acids.

All these ingredients combined in our serum make for a well rounded potent formula that transforms lacklustre skin into bright, dewy, plumper and smoother skin. It is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.

Our Brightening Hydration Serum can and should be used twice a day on damp skin. It is safe to use in conjunction with other active ingredients like Vitamin C, Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Retinoids. Make sure to follow up with a moisturiser and/or oil to seal in the hydration.
